I can’t quite believe it’s two years since we opened Basil & Tom’s on Churchfield Road in Acton. The journey so far has been great, lots of hard work, but we’ve loved getting to know so many new people in the area and we’re learning a lot about what our customers want (and don’t), which has been a really useful experience. So, it was quite timely that last weekend I was asked to share my experience of starting Basil & Tom’s in a Sunday Telegraph article, have a read here
With this second Lockdown, we plan to keep the shop open 7 days a week and are continuing our weekly delivery service, we do still have slots available but they’re getting booked up quickly so if you think it would be useful to have your fruit and veg, eggs and sourdough bread delivered to your doorstep over the next few months sign up.
We’re continuing to find other interesting and high-quality products to sell in the shop, so do pop in to see what’s new. Neal’s Yard cheeses are proving popular and we will aim to try a new one every few weeks. We also have a wonderful range of fresh curry sauces from Karma Curry, which are a delicious and easy way of making a tasty supper. We have just got in some amazing fish stock in jars from the Spanish producer Navarrico – which we have found revolutionises fish dishes we’re cooking at home. If you do sign up to our Veg Boxes look out for the recipe cards, we’ll include every couple of weeks to help you make use of the things we include in the boxes. Oh and then there’s Christmas too, we’ll have a range of some yummy Christmas items from mid-November, so even if we can’t share festivities with lots of people this year, there will be some tasty treats you can enjoy for yourself.
